All limited liability companies and limited partnerships are required to have a registered office address in the country of their jurisdiction. The registered office is the official address of the company, and all official communications will be sent to that address. Official communications are those issued by HMRC, Companies House, Government Gateway, Department of Works and Pensions (DWP), Office for National Statistics, Information Commissioners Office (ICO), Her Majesty’s Courts and Tribunal Service and the Intellectual Property Office. The registered office address must be a physical address, capable of having documents served on the directors. That is to say received, signed for and brought to the attention of the intended recipient in the event of court proceedings. Hence, it cannot be a PO Box address unless that is part of a complete address, i.e., it has a street address and postcode.
All our registered office users are given free service addresses for their directors and shareholders in the first year. All directors are obliged to give Companies House their personal details, including residential address, but these personal details will not be publicly displayed. Instead, Companies House will display the director’s service address on its website.
